A Welcome Letter from our Co-Founders

As co-founding directors, we extend our sincere appreciation for expertise and creative and productive involvement in the pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes of gout, hyperuricemia, and crystal deposition-associated disorders (including cardiovascular and renal diseases associated with these conditions). We invite you to explore and utilize this website as a resource and entry point into collaborations with G-CAN. The global and multi-disciplinary nature of G-CAN, and our objectives and individual projects unique to this field, will be readily appreciable by delving into the website. Comments, suggestions, and questions from you via email are welcomed. We gratefully acknowledge the roles of the Executive and Steering Committees that run and guide G-CAN, and the generosity and active participation of our industry leadership supporters, who sponsor us through unrestricted grants.

Process for Application and Approval of G-CAN Supported Projects. G-CAN members are encouraged to submit project proposals in the field of gout and calcium crystal disorders. Our new procedure for application and approval can be found here.

G-CAN Registries Online:  G-CAN has added a listing with links to registries and cohorts in the specific disease areas of: gout, hyperuricemia, and crystal arthropathy, and their relationship to comorbidities including CKD, and cardiac and metabolic diseases. Gout Common Language Definition  The G-CAN gout common language definition was recently published in the journal RMD Open. The definition, which has been translated into different languages, can be found here. You may also access the published article here.
